Folk Art Bunny Carving Note Card

Just finished this carving.
I love folk art and this is just
'folksy' enough for me. I also love chocolate
and of course with Easter coming up I
had to print it in cocoa brown ink.
Used PZCut's new carving medium called
NZCut. I have to say, I love it. Not only is it
wonderful to carve on, it sticks to my acrylic
block without any glue or other
adhesive! Bravo Diana Hammond (stampeaz.com)
for this new version of the dearly departed
PZCUT carving material.
I would love to hear anyone's
comments on my carving or
your favorite carving material!
Thanks, Michelle

Here is a carving of my little sweetie, Cosmo.
Was an interesting challenge to leave
as much fur to the imagination as possible!

Another view of the Madonna and Child

Mother and Child Gourd

This Mother and Child gourd was painted
using Golden acrylic paints.
They are beautiful to work with!
I have burned gourds for years and
this is my first time painting one.
                                              She stands about
8 inches tall and 5 1/2 wide.

Carved Flower Gift Tag

Made a gift tag out of this
recent little flower carving.
Was very quick and easy. Covered
the image with Color Box chalk ink.
Then used the brown Color box ink to
edge the image and give the
center some definition.
Put a little shimmer in the middle
with some sparkle glitter glue.

Needlefelting class that I held at the Burlap and Roses shop in NewVirginia.

Photo's from a Needlefelting class that I held at the Burlap and Roses shop in NewVirginia. The gals in the class were so fun, we had a great time. The final pic is of the cup cozy (my design) that you could choose to make.

Print on Muslin of one of my own carved images

Here is a print that I did on Muslin,
with one of my carved images.
Printed with permanent ink, and then colored with watercolor crayons. Used a Copic waterproof black
marker for the  le fluer and merci script writing.
I love those pens, they say permanent and
that is what they are.

Pencil and Watercolor Portrait

This Gal was a true farm women
in every sense of the word. I didn't
know her personally, but I grew to know  her
through her loving granddaughter's
tales of her. She grew most of her food
and canned it all herself, including jams and jellies.
She dealt with the farm animals. As an elderly
lady she was knocked down by a Bull Cow and
got back up and shoved it aside. She chopped
her own wood. Not too many years before her
death she was out chopping wood when she
accidentally smashed her thumb, and
in her characteristic
way she left her work gloves on thinking
that it would be better later on in the
day...only to find out it was getting worse!
She ended up having to have it amputated.
She was one tough cookie, but tender enough to raise
a granddaughter like her own. I would have been
proud to have been able to call her my grandmother!

Final piece of art in the 30 day challenge! :) Thanks for looking!

Colored Pencil
This is the final piece of
art in the 30 day challenge that
I set for myself.
I have enjoyed this so very much.
Made me realize how much more I can
achieve with my art on a day to day
basis. Now I will be working on
larger pieces of art. I have a few
commissioned pieces that I
am looking forward to working on.
