This is our dog, Schatzie.
She was snoozing on her favorite
wool blanket and she was such a perfect little oval
with all her paws tucked in, I couldn't not draw her.

This is number two in a month long challenge I am doing
with my daughter, Nina. However she is
writing a  poem every day, and I think Seth
decided to create a new Lego design every day!

Cosmo

 Drawing of my baby, Cosmo.Used
colored pencil on watercolor paper.
She is such a sweet little kitty.
When the kids and I went to get
a kitty, we came home with two. I
simply could not resist her
cute self!
This is the first drawing in a month long challenge
to do some type of art every day.
I am excited to see what happens, and
share it with you.

Coffee and Cupcake, Anyone?

Painting using
water color, colored pencil, and ink.

Painted Dining Table

This is our dining room table.
Design is drawn
so it would make sense with the
two leaves, just one, or using
none of the leaves.

Hand drawn wedding program

Wanted to share the wedding program
I drew for my daughter's wedding.

Zinnia card

This card was so much fun. I used a
drawing I made of a Zinnia from
my garden. Cut it out, wax coated
it on both sides. Then used it for a stencil
to make the background flower
images (wax allowed me to wipe off any excess ink). Wrote some script on
the sky background. Used torn paper
for the stem and leaves.

Colorful card, carving

Made this thank you card
for a friend using
a stamp that I have recently carved.
Used torn paper for leaves
and stems.

Pencil Bag from Old Skirt

Used an old skirt found at thrift shop to make this pencil bag. I LOVE this
fabric. It makes me smile, so I had to make it into something that
I would look at often! ...:)
Made it have an inside pocket and an outside pocket, too. Added
a circle handle to one end for carrying.
So, what do you think?

Wool,Needlefelted Container

Here is a large Needlefelted, Wool container.
I really like the way the flowers turned out on this one.
Sewed it from a circle of wool that had been cut into a
spiral. Then did all the needle art.

Needlefelted Wool Bowl

Large,shallow,felted wool bowl.

Wool Pencil cup, Needlefelted

Love working with wool.
Here is a pencil cup-size wool container that I
did some needlefelting artwork on.
Portrait I did in pencil of my Grandmother Swanson.
She was about 18 or 19 .

Metal Can with artwork, carving

Decorated this can (repurposed tea box) with a carving I have done.
Used beads, paper flowers, and wood for the handle.

Paper Flowers for Wedding Guest Book Table

I made these to put on the guest book table at my daughter's
wedding this past July. I cut circles from watercolor paper and
painted them and then highlighted them with gold and beads. Leaves
are also from watercolor paper, free hand.

Crepe Paper Carrot Boxes

Here are some paper boxes I made at Easter time.
They are made by using a crumpled up plastic grocery bag as
a mold, and then using crepe paper to wind around the mold
while gluing with glue stick.  Made lids same way adding a little
greenery through a whole at the top of the lid, covering
the interior with a bit of orange paper to hide where
the green was attached. These are so much fun to make!!
Give it a try....:)

Celtic carving

Celtic heart maze carving . Original design
was a single, double heart intertwined, so I redrew it and
extended the design to make a border carving.

Flies on Wood

Recent carving of some blue flies printed over another carving
of a piece of wood. Flies remind me of summer, and
picnics, so I thought this was a perfect July theme!
